From a young age I discovered music and my love for it. I would spend hours listening to 8 tracks. That’s right... 8 tracks! I started with Organ lessons at the age of 7. By age 13 I switched focus to Guitar. One of the 1st rock bands I heard was The Eagles which made me start looking for more! Then MTV came out, and I can still remember sitting 2ft from the TV watching Styx, and REO Speedwagon. Gary Richrath was one of my first influences and whenever I see a Cherry burst Les Paul, I think of him. This led me to my all-time favorites! My heroes! Eddie Van Halen and George Lynch of Dokken and Lynch Mob. By the age of 17 I was playing in bands (Spectrum and Sideways) and gigging in bars (it was the 80’s) and doing Studio work. I look back on that now and think “Man my parents were cool!” After some personal struggles I walked away from Music for a while. But I found that love I had for it later in life and started playing again. Which is what led me to form Recoil!!
